Little Dog Syndrome

Yes, I have joined the ranks of little dog owners. After years of having Golden Retrievers, my home is now being controlled by a cute little puff dog. We called her Bailey, like Bailey’s Irish Cream. All our other dogs were named after alcohol too–Sam (Adams), Stoli (vodka)and Kohler (beer). But now my home is under the control of a little dog.

You have to love her – except when she pees on the carpet. AAAUUUGGHH. Luckily for me I have a few things I can try! I’ve found a spot and stain remover with “enzymes” that is working on the smell and the stain. Did you know “enzymes” are really bacteria! But they are good ones. I bet you didn’t know there are good bacteria. It seems we all spend all our cleaning time trying to get rid of bacteria, but the good ones can actually do work for you. All I do is spray this Unique Stain Remover on the spot, cover it with a damp cloth and when I come back the stain and smell are gone. What I found out is that the bacteria actually eat the pee! How gross is that. But you know I’d rather have them eat it, than have that stuff in my carpets!

It also works for mattresses for little ones who have accidents. I have to be real careful of what I spray on a mattress, but this spray is totally natural. So you can spray it on a kiddos mattress after an accident, cover it with a damp towel and then let it dry all day. I wish I would have had this 17 years ago. I would have saved hundreds on the new mattresses and plastic covers!

Enzymes are not bacteria. Enzymes can sometimes have the function of breaking something down so that bacteria can digest it, but they are not the same thing. Sort of like how we have digestive enzymes in our saliva that help break down food, and the bacteria in our intestines help us digest the food.
