How To Battle Mold On Tile Grout

Question of the day: Hi Coach! I'm interested in learning an alternative to bleach for mold cleaning on my bathroom tiles.

I have a few options for you. Mold can be a battle but there are a few things that work great. Tea Tree oil will kill the mold and the spores, so just mix a few drops in a bottle of water and spray directly on the mold and it dry. The oil will not turn the mold white like bleach so you have to scrub it with a mixture of borax and hydrogen peroxide. I mix them together into a paste and scrub with a toothbrush.

  1. Hey coach. I agree that tea tree oil kills the mold on bathroom tiles. But what about the carpet mold? Last time my carpet was ruined and I had to buy a new one, which now is cleaned by carpet cleaning Islington, but I'm not sure what products they are using. How can I get rid of such kind of mold in a green way?

  2. Hi Lisa, You may want to try using the tea tree oil in any of your regular carpet shampoos. I've also had great luck using a product called Unique http://www.backdoorvac.com/unique-carpet-shampoo-218.html
You can add tea tree oil to the shampoo and it will help keep the mold away.
